Hey, normal kids are difficult to deal with, sometimes more difficult than others, even if you love them, and are geared to being a parent. Dealing with mentally and/or emotionally disabled people, whether children, or adults is a whole other ballgame. Not everyone is geared to handle it. There are natural born parents of some of these children that can not fully deal with it alone. It's nothing to be ashamed of, and doesn't make anyone less of a great person. It's better to admit it though, get it out in the open, and do what it takes that is in everyone's best interest.
scg, you have opened your heart to doing what you felt was right, even though it's outside your comfort zone. In my opinion, that is very admirable. I'm so glad you addressed the issue of their future too. You are a shero!
