The Old Folks Home

I put these chicks in the big dog crate. They're healthy. I'm not too pleased with their feathering. Actually, there is a lot I'm not pleased about, but then I'm used to SQ offspring. I've got them on a very high protein, Mana Pro gamebird/showbird feed. I'm raising them like I do my SQ chicks, so it's not a lack of providing for them, on my part.

When there's time for cooking, it's a pleasure. When there's not, it's a chore. The Instant Pot, IMHO, buys time for other important things...like a late afternoon nap. If I oversleep, there's still a great meal on the table at dinnertime.

Got an air fryer for Christmas. It's pretty trick, too!

No blizzard but snow for us today .
Feel lazy sleeping in til 6
Old 6 or new 6??
32°F and blowing today. "Steady" winds mid 20's gusting to mid 40's.

Can't like that, not even a little bit I hate the DST switches. Maybe they make more sense in lower latitudes. It finally starts to get light at 7 AM and BAM slammed into darkness again.

Older sister sent these to me, figured the quilters among you might enjoy:

And yes this IS where we store the "in use" potholders

Very cool, bruce. Too nice to use. Nicer hung up.

Sunshine today but chilly. At least we got a boatload of rain yesterday instead of snow and I heard geese on the move. The big flocks haven't hit yet but they are definitely massing for the big move. I think we have a day where it's supposed to hit 60 in the offing. Can hardly wait. Now we are just squishing around in the mud.

I love my muck boots I love my muck boots I love my muck boots.

Funny how as you get older and your clothing needs change, you ditch the girly boots with heels and buckles and look for sturdy muck boots! Not that I'd wear them on an outing but they are definitely a high demand commodity around here on farms.

I KNOW! But the note specifically said they are to be used. I bought one a few years ago that has been hanging on the refrigerator because it is also too nice to use.
Maybe I can just be real careful to not burn them. They apparently have an insulating layer in the middle.

OK, so we get that winter is wearing out its welcome :D And yes, I'm sure you DO love your muck boots. I can't wear Muck brand, too tight on the calves and I don't even have big calves!
