Hi Cynthia.... No surgery for now.... have to see the GI doc to find out why my gut Grabsup in pain about every two or three days.... Could be GI issues Like IBS or worse Diverticulosis... and then Diverticulitis.... Surgeon wont do surgery with Diverticulitis being the culprit.

IBS I can deal with... it flaired when Grandma had a particularly aweful episode where she was mean to both dean and I....

Its flairing now She was very mean to both of us yesterday.... I know she cant help it but dang....

Ok while I was writing this the Docs office called..... Surgery is on for the Eleventh of JUNE.... I go get my packet. Today before four....

What???? . Yes!!

ITs been a roller coaster ride for this one. because it IS considered elective surgery.... I am High risk according to him... Morbidly obese.... Well Duh this is all he does... High blood pressure, A heart thats like shoe leather, Type 2 diabetes.... I am sure hes tying in my age also.... 63 soon to be 64 my birthday is June 9 surgery date is June 11 Happy birthday me.

BUT.... this is a big bunch for me.

Longivity in my family
Survived a surgery that was twice as long that had me at an incline of 45 degrees head down.
To me Shoe leather is like tough and plodding.
My weight is below my chest... Legs and behind and gut...

As soon as this weight is off my heart can begin to go back to a more elastic state.
My Diabetes May be controlable by diet ONLY
My High blood pressure will only need mild drugs to keep in check. Have always had borderline...

I am already doing things I used to be afraid to do. After having lost forty pounds now....

Getting in and out of the shower over the tub.... Was a really scary thing for me.
Getting up out of a chair in one fluid motion about 70percent of the time.
Gone down Two pants sizes.... From 5x to 3x..

At my lowest weight I wore a 14.

Oh and for what its worth If there are any new people to the thread... I am going for Bariatric surgery in order to lose weight.

There is a law called the Wilson act here. It is an Ag Preserve rule that gives the Ag land owner a break on property taxes.

We have a "current use" law similar to that but you need a minimum of 27 acres since they require 2 for the house site and no less than 25 acres in ag use.

Ron, there were similar type laws here, but for several years now a couple of huge out-of-state development companies have been buying up all the land they can. They have enough money to line political pockets, and get the properties rezoned, then build subdivision type housing. There are several tactics they use, and some of the properties take a couple years before they can get it all rezoned the way they want it, but they can afford to wait it out, and eventually they get exactly what they want.

Yep, I've been to zoning board meetings and it is enough to make you sick. State law: you can't build on (or modify in any way) a wetland. OK, we'll swap this other land and "make" a wetland there and fill in this wetland for our project. The money (and projected property tax income for the city) always wins out. I wonder how long it is before the new "wetland" gets stomped as well.

Good morning all happy Saturday

DD1 got her grades from her first semester at Mt. Allison.
5 classes, 1 A
She's OK with having one "low" grade. I guess she's mellowed a bit

I dropped her at the airport at 5:40 this morning, she's off to Indiana for her boyfriend's graduation from Perdue, chemical engineering. She'll be there until the end of the month.
