The Old Folks Home

I had to look up nose cancer after this. Good grief! Some of the photos! :th. Bless their hearts.

DH had a very complicated surgery on a cancerous lesion that was in the crevice between the side of his nostril and his nose back in 08. By the time they were done he had a crater that went completely through his nostril and big enough that you could stick your finger in it. It was necessary in order to get all of the cancerous cells out.To fill the hole, they did a pedicle graft, slicing a flap in his cheek and bringing it around to stitch into the crater. They left that there for 10 days, then they cut the flap loose, leaving the tip end behind to fill the hole. It had grown its own vascular system. They also took a piece of donor cartilage from his ear to rebuild his nostril. Ten years later the only evidence that he had anything done was where there is a tiny dimple in that nostril thanks to a sinus infection that he got afterwards.

Point being. They can do some miraculous plastic surgery now.

Cynthia, good luck tomorrow on that ingrown toenail. You will be breathing a big sigh of relief afterwards.

I think the sticky fingered neighbor(s) should find some stink eggs.
Or a rat trap.

Getting an ingrown toenail done tommorow..
Well now doesn't THAT sound like fun!!! But I'm sure your foot will feel a lot better soon.

She will have to give the fishula 6 tries to see if working, before they take the port out. Man I hope it's ready to use.
:fl

Our bank is updating to Windows 10. No online banking for a few days until they get it all up, and running.
Or maybe longer when they have the same problems getting everything up and running as seems common with people who convert/get converted.

Or a rat trap.

Now THERE’S an idea. I think I might even pay money to see that. :lau

And those suckers look like they would HURT. My dad bought some of the big huge rat snap traps along with some glue traps and the bait box things a few weeks ago to try to catch whatever was in my closet (didn’t work but it appears to be gone now) and the rat ones are HUGE. They also very LOUD. He accidentally set one off when trying to bait it (thankfully didn’t get any of us) and that sucker sounded like it hurt and the noise alone scared me. Wasn’t expecting it and jumped tbh :lau :hide but I bet that puppy would break your entire hand or maybe even your wrist if you weren’t careful.

And obviously I don’t like seeing people get hurt but thieves I think I could live with it ha or just stock it full of very realistic looking fake eggs, maybe those ceramic ones. Would also pay to watch them try to crack those puppies. :lau

I am ashamed to admit I made that mistake once. :lau :hide my dad or I think brother did too and I made fun of them at first cause I thought how could you possibly get the fake ones and the real ones confused!? Until I did it too. :lau after that I put X’s on the fake ones lol still had a mix up or two when my dad wouldn’t look before collecting but it solved most of our issues :lau now I don’t use them but there was a period where they were only using one box and I wanted them to use more boxes so we used them. They’re kind of back to doing that but I don’t care anymore. At least they’re laying. :lau

But anyway, long story short, I actually not only collected the wrong eggs but also couldn’t tell them apart and almost tried to crack one. My dad actually did try to do that and even put them in the cartons. :lau

For me, I thought they were pretty heavy but I also had some layers laying huge eggs so they didn’t feel that weird to me and I actually had to resort to candling them all before putting them away to be able to tell which was fake and which was real. :lau :hide

Yeah..... if I ever use more fake eggs I will stick to golf balls or drawing on all the fakes :lau

Yeah it would definitely break a few fingers. I guess one could use a mouse trap the first time, kind of a warning shot across the bow.

Yeah maybe a mouse trap would be kinder :lau give them a chance to see the error of their ways first before resorting to more... uhhh... extreme measures. :lau

Speaking of traps though, I need to do something about all these dang chipmunks everywhere!! Maybe I will just take the traps out of my closet and move them outside. Or do the bucket thing. We actually have a pond that so was going to use for the goldfish but maybe before I do I could fill it partly and make a ginormous massive bucket trap and get them all in one go..... :lau although that might kill all the squirrels too. :hide :hit

When I was growing up an X on an egg in the refrigerator meant it was hard boiled.

Huh. I never thought of that. That is a good idea. If I ever make hard boiled eggs I will do that and maybe I’ll have to come up with some other marking if I use the fake eggs again.
