The Old Folks Home

Yeah, but the laughter and joy has out balanced the aggravation and house being torn up. There isn't a day that goes by when then don't make us laugh and when they come into the house and crawl in our laps wanting to be cuddled and their bellies scratched, all is forgiven as far as bad habits are concerned.

So far our 5 dogs for 25$ will have somewhere like 2000$ invested in them by the time all are spayed, neutered and have all of their shots done. Shots alone have been close to 750$. But when we let them loose and see them tearing around the trails in the pasture and diving into the tall grass like porpoises, it's worth the cost at any price. They are just such amazing little animals.

Sidney has discovered the chickens. She has also discovered the hot wire. She fell over her own feet in her rush to get back to mamma for sympathy when that happened. She is now torn between cautiously approaching the fence and remembering that those chickens are armed and dangerous.
We ran into a similar

I hope the muscles are feeling better soon!

Take things slow, Deb. Your body is still getting use to the new you.

Bruce, our first cattle dog chewed through woven field fence. Cut through the wire like a pair of bolt cutters. No matter what fence we have up, it's going to have to be backed up with electricity.

Our spotted black and white dog, Buck, backed his fat butt into the charger wire hooked up fence charger in the entrance to my chicken coop. He jumped straight in the air, yelped and headed for the house at warp 9. I told him I sympathized. I hit the silly thing a couple of weeks ago. Found out how good my reflexes still are.Made me yelp, too!:gigBut I couldn't hit warp 9 if my life depended on it.
Poor Dog!

Is the fence hotter than most are now? In the old days electric fences had a lot of voltage

I got the animals left over from the swap put away, did some feeding and watering. Sold a Turkey, 2 roosters, and 5 pullets. No quail or rabbits. Not terribly well attended. I think next month I will go to the one in Martinsville instead of Brookneal.
Five and a half hours is not enough sleep. Really tired, but the nicest part of the day is right after supper. Lots to be done. Tomorrow is supposed to be back up in the 90s!
It is good that you sold some!

I hope attendance will be up next time

When I used to walk a lot one neighbor used to "sic" his Chow on me. The dog never went after anyone else and even kids played with him, so I knew it was the owners fault.

I got a riding crop just for him. He'd come flying up to me and I'd raise the crop and coo "Come on dog, make my day." He'd stay out of range but, if I turned my back there he was.

Was talking to the wife one day and she knew all about her husband. She said she got the dog as her protector (from him). She eventually divorced him and the dog was put down.
Felt very sorry for the little daughter, she loved the dog.

I could go for a REAL hamburger right now - not a Micky D's or Burger King.

On that note, I made spaghetti sauce successfully - didn't leave it thaw out in a very hot kitchen and forgot about it and didn't burn it and the pan as well - this time. See what a difference it makes with concentration.. Sauce was very good too. I'm finishing the last of it today once I stop here and go eat.

I don't know anything about green potato salad except it's Sour's creation.

But when I was a kid I thought it would be neat to use food coloring on my mother's mashed potatoes. Somehow none of us thought blue potatoes were appetizing.
