The Old Folks Home

I stopped by one of the neighborhood Amish vegetable stands yesterday and came home with green beans, tomatoes, and summer squash. Put three pints of green beans in the freezer along with two pints of stock from a slow cooker prepared cockerel (2 meals of meat for me). I think I'm going to get more green beans as theirs were so tender and full of flavor....got to be that good horse poop they use for fertilizer, LOL. They also had local produced honey and I bought an ear candle just for fun. You can see what they are about here:

It was good for a laugh when I gave it to DH and told him never mind going to the VA when his ears were plugged up. We were just gonna stick this here ear candle in his ear and light er up!:lau

The young California valley quail are growing!

Tums didn't help me so I just tried the "hair of the dog," approach. I was still "uncomfortable," after ingesting too much ice cream before bed. So for lunch today I decided to have the last semi-pint(14 oz) of ice cream. It did the trick. I'm fine now.
