I do understand long term tramadol user but got myself on Lidocaine now over the counter I fought trying to get it before to use less than 6 tramadol a day they wouldn't let me have it View attachment 1891623

If lidocaine can work for a migraine I’m going to get some! But the pain is inside, so I doubt it.

I’ve been down two days with a migraine. My headaches are usually not as bad as some people describe, but they last four days.

This one is awful! I’m dosing up with medication, and last night 1:30 am - 6 laid awake fantasizing about going to the Emergency Room. It’s slightly better today, but still torture.

Last migraine was pretty bad, too. In May. I begged for Fioricet and got some. New rules about doing everything besides giving patients painkillers. She suggested I come to the ER instead! It’s an hour away, and there’s a cost effective plan! It would have cost at least hundreds of dollars, compared to a small bottle of pills! I am so far from a drug addict it’s ridiculous!

Anyway. Thanks for listening. I am miserable. Pain and nausea, such fun.
I used to date a fellow that would get cluster migranes... The only thing he could do was walk in a straight line following the wall turn and come back. They would go away and hed be able to function. but they came back.... over and over and over again... sometimes for a week.

He never got meds for it. even if he could... because he was a recovering drug addict. At one point in his life he had a two hundred dollar a day Cocaine habit. This was back before Meth took over.

Hang in there and big hugs because While I dont know what you are going through I do know how debilitating it is.

Lidocane nasal spray may help... Its aim is that little point of your brain that is very close to the surface in your sinus. I read up on it when he was suffering. They tried applying it by Q tip... and it worked if you caught it early on. Cant hurt.

They are getting super stingy about pain pills. Only want to give you a few days worth or you have to go to a pain clinic.

@trumpeting_angel, I am so sorry to hear that you are suffering that much pain. I suspect I had some sort of migraines when I was a child as I would get these flickering light auras followed by stomach cramps and nausea. I seem to have grown out fo them, thankfully but I can remember how unpleasant they were.

I'm glad I have the pain clinic experience on my record along with a solid diagnosis of a degenerative bone disease that causes and can cause chronic pain. Like I told the pain clinic PA. Pain is subjective. What might be an 8 or 9 to me might be a 2-3 on the scale for a 250 pound male or what is a 2-3 for me might be an 8-9 to another woman. I like to say that when it hits bad, I am laying on the sofa with ice packs. When it is 1-2 that is my normal pain level although it can be about a 7 or sometimes 8 when the muscle spasms hit hard and my neck or back starts to hurt.

Like always, people with a real need for the medication suffer because of the idiots.
