Dd #2 called yesterday, and surprised me by taking me to Outback for supper.

Itchy and tired and achey, but I guess that is the new normal. Pulling weeds, and I think I got some chigger bites. Why do we need such miserable bugs?G'morning all. Hope everyone on the east coast is staying safe. It's hard to comprehend that the weather to the east is so malevolent when we look out the window here and there is sunshine galore and mild temperatures.
@superchemicalgirl, we were really impressed by the work that you are doing on the cemetery. Talk about a labor of love. We haven't encountered any cemeteries in need of work here in MO. In IL there were plenty around us, including the one we lived next to. They kept it mowed and trimmed but there was a pile of grave markers in a corner by the groundskeeper shack that had been broken off and discarded. No new burials there for decades and some of the the markers dated with birth dates back to antebellum.

Our home was to the east of the cemetery. There was a school on the property before the house was built (using materials from demolishing the school) and before the school there was a church.Probably the United Brethren.
@CapricornFarm, how ya feelin?
Pictures of the smoker! YES YES YES!![]()
Yummo! Those veggies are what I was hoping to get from my garden. Now everyone is saying that their spring garden was like mine....a disaster. But those who planted second plantings (which is doable in MO) are saying that their second gardens are doing fantastic.Happy Labor Day to all!
The annual tradition here is to put labor back into Labor Day and roast up the harvestable peppers from the garden. This year I put in a large tract of corn which displaced my peppers, so only a pithy harvest of large-enough ones to roast (about 4 lbs. which yielded 3 lbs of chopped roasted chile peppers...or six 1/2 cup baggies.) So with that done in record time, off to other things.... Like maybe a movie this afternoon.

The shrimp in a styrofoam cup sounds suspiciously like ceviche. Was the shrimp cooked via lime juice immersion? Delicious either way.

There was a neat compilation on FB of people that disguised surgical scars with tattoos. I particularly liked the fish head with skeleton ones.
Birds are molting here. Stew the Roo has but one tailfeather. The flock looks like they're halfway to Tyson. It's still somewhat warm out, so I don't worry too much about their nakedness and catching a chill. Fall is on the horizon, though, as it's not scorchingly hot in the mornings...meaning I can sometimes delay getting out to the veggie compound for watering until late morning.
I had a friend -- I enabled her chicken habit -- who's a photographer come over for a visit. I've been after her to eat more veggies for health concerns. I sent her home with some goodies from the garden, and she posted them. I think she did them justice!

Enough complaints, I have just the roof and the little cover for the waterer to make for the new quail cage. Also working on another bunny water system, got the 5 gallon bucket drilled, next insert the metal tap and silicone it. Dry 24 hours and set up. Also working on the wooden parts for the chicken run. 10x10, x6 high for some banties.
How are you doing Micro?
Something in the back of my brain is kicking around wanting to say that Sourland once said that he had one but don't quote me on that, there's a lot of things kicking around in the back of my brain. Some fact some not.Kinda random but anyone have a generac generator? Just saw an ad for them on the TV and they seem pretty good/really cool but of course it’s an ad so didn’t know if it was a scam or not lol
Not that I need a generator but just was wondering
