:hugs Penny. Feel better, Okay? I think you said you use a netty pot. Time to start waterboarding yourself! Ragweed and goldenrod are blooming here. DH and I are both stuffy and miserable. I can't take a lot of the decongestants either because of the cardiac side effects. Right now, Zyrtec, Singulair and Benadryl are my friends.

They want me to go through allergy testing again and start shots but it would mean going cold turkey on all my allergy meds for one week prior. I'd love to do it but no way this time of the year. I'd be miserable and that goes against my religion right now.:rolleyes:
 
I use benadryl also every night before bed at bedtime take my Melatonin to sleep
Son had the crud just at the tail end now that is the why BF grabbed dayquil our little store here did not carry coricidin but he wanted to get me something finally got my main coop cleaned wearing my slip on galoshes we have a wet rainy day going here not raining while I was out

Was grocery shopping today- at what used to be a very nice store - Marianos. The checker informed us it was changing into a Kroger. Most of the checkers were losing their jobs because they were going to put in self check-out lanes.

She said she had worked at another chain grocery store for 25 years till they closed down. That store became Marianos and now she was going to lose her job again.
The new(?) thing is to fire workers and convince customers to check out their groceries without paying them a dime. My brother and I told her we do not participate in that practice. We will not help stores that insist on firing good employees.

Our regular grocery store has almost completely changed over to self check out lanes.
we only use the human clerk check out lanes. It also remodels(HA!) the stores often and then passes big price increases on to customers. What a sorry state that good workers get laid off /fired.:(

Well put DD. Gots to buy more of them Chinese electronic gadgets I mentioned. I feel the same way you do. I seldom use self check. If I do, it's at HomeDepot when I only have a gallon of paint and am in a hurry. Everyone is so keen about eliminating the human factor in order to save money.

DH and I went to Micky Dee's the other day for breakfast. They had an automated fast serve kiosk right in front of the regular service window.

I miss the good old days....hamburger for 15 cents, fries for a nickel. Another nickel would get you a large soft drink....lunch for a quarter. Last time we were on the road and stopped for fast food it was something like 14 dollars. Almost as bad as a sit down restaurant.

Won't be long before they start making us go through a self serve line for that also. NO! Wait a minute! They already have. It's called an all you can gorge on buffet!

Only solution DD is to find a new 'home' store. We have one here near us. Can't get half the stuff I want. Prices keep going up due to the rural community but they have REAL checkers and no self serve. Love those folks!
 
I hate the self checkout lanes where a body less voice tells me I did something wrong.My brother likes arguing with machines, I do not.

I remember our first drive in Hamburger place - "Henry's" 5 cent hamburgers (at least that was what they called them). But I am older than you Micro and my parents had to pay so I really didn't care. Walgreens used to have soda fountains and made the very best chocolate malteds in MY world for 20 cents. You also got a butter cookie, and when they poured out the malted they left the container on the table so you could have the little extra that was left behind. THOSE WERE THE DAYS MY FRIEND !!!:ya

If I didn't cry at the dentist I got a malt. Actually I cried anyway and still got the malted.
My father used to like me when I was little. Alright much smaller than I am now.
 
Do you suppose this is an okay place to ask a mild chicken question?

I let my four out today then turned and went to the porch to get my anti-tick gaiters on. I heard a loud bawk- bawk-bawk and I thought there was a squabble. I came out and there were only three!

We hunted and called, but I was convinced she had been carried off by a hawk. We were sad. DH tried not to say “I told you so.”

About 45 minutes later, she showed up outside the coop. Not a scratch on her! What’s up? I think she was in a tree and I didn’t look up enough. What do you think? They always stick together.

She may have a hidden nest out there somewhere!
