You should play a tape of LOUD chickens racket in the coop at night, so they got an earful of what it's like . Better yet , if you could find a Beatles concert tape with all the screaming - made me hoarse for life - no joke. I saw 4 of their concerts but, only saw moving "ants" from my seat. I do think it was the Beatles tho.
Just a quick post. PT went well. They are doing electric pulse therapy on my neck and shoulders. I have definite forward rolling in both shoulders along with muscle spasms and all that nasty stuff but she said I still have good movement in my neck. Not perfect but still flexible. So I was sent home with four different exercises, then go back on Thursday.
Then while in route to the PT. The phone rang and ID'ed as the vet's office. I looked at DH and said, 'something's happened to Diesel' as it was only 10:30. It was the receptionist and she said 'can you come and pick up Diesel after lunch? He's mad at everyone, nobody can get near him without him trying to bite them. He is awake from his surgery and by the way he's acting, we say he's fine.' I was trying hard not to laugh as I apologized for his behavior, which is entirely new and told her I was going to PT, then to visit a friend in the hospital so we would pick him up after that. While DH was getting Dee out of his cage I heard the whole story. Seems as though he had escaped his kennel overnight by climbing out (something he's never done here) and was running around the kennel area daring anybody to get near him. He was awake when we got there but gorked out of his head and even snapped at DH, cutting his finger when he went to pick him up. Diesel settled right down when he saw me. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the sight of DH holding the pup and getting his finger bandaged up at the same time.
Somehow the behavior seems appropriate in a young 'male of the species' dog who has just figured out that some evil stranger is out to steal the family jewels. He rode home in my lap and once home drank, ate some roast beef, said hi to his brother's and sisters' and went to sleep, completely back to being sweet to us Diesel.
Poor vet....okay, I'm still chuckling and wondering what the next castration excitement will be. None of our dogs with the exception of our first cattle dog, liked the poor man. The cats love him but the dogs......not so much.
Oh, that is TOO funny!I got a call like that from the vet once, @microchick
The cat had his claws removed. We were summoned to pick him up early. On his cage was a little tag that now said, “nasty cat - DO NOT BOARD.”
That's what she decided to do. They will pay for a hotel but they decide where it is, or they pay for the travel which figures out better so she rented a cheap one close. It would be worth looking into a cheap motel instead of driving every day.
Good luck, I hope you feel better soon! You got it Angel! That is exactly what they are doing. I haven't seen it in action but from what I heard at the club meeting, they give the shots through an 'open window' or door of the car and they can do it via either side of the vehicle. DH pointed out the anaphylactic possibility right off and asked me 'how much you wanna bet that if you are there you'll wind up jabbing your epi-pen into somebody having a severe reaction to the shot?' And what happens if the person in the car drives off and has a reaction a mile or two away? Too scary for our liking.
Another reason we bowed out. Having the education means being aware of what can go wrong even with the best of intentions.
Wish me luck! I start Physical Therapy today and not a moment too soon as my neck started bothering me again yesterday and I could barely crawl out of bed this morning. Started back on the Methotrexate out of desperation. It was nice not hurting for a few months when they hit the sweet spot for my dosage. Hoping to recreate that!
