Okay, I gotta ask....what's the brown thing cut in half at 1 o'clock? Baked potato? Roll? Rest is lemme guess. Asparagus, carrots (could be sweet potato), spinach or collard greens....then the mystery item. All in all looks yummy and since I'm the adventuresome type, I'd even take the mystery item!:drool

Told ya, the diet is killin me here.....

The trick with a diet, KDOGG, is not to deny yourself the occasional splurge. Just remember that most servings are either 1/2, 2/3rds or one cup. Read the nutritional guidelines for whatever you want to eat and if you want a cupcake. Eat the blessed cupcake then stop. I always made the mistake of listening to the little devil sitting on my left shoulder that whispered in my ear....."you know you LOVE chocolate...go ahead, eat another cupcake.....you KNOW you want it and what will it hurt? You can just cut back tomorrow....had two? So what's another going to hurt?"

The little angel on my right shoulder finally got out the baseball bat and nailed the little devil on my left shoulder. Knocked him into left field. But every now and then I feel him struggle his way back up my shoulder and start whispering in my ear....."you know you want one of those Butterfingers mini snacks, what will it hurt? Now have another." That's when the angel got a club and beat the devil into a coma so I could get back on my diet.:lau

Believe it or not that is actually a very well done hamburger. :hide

Cut in half to make sure it was cooked. :lau :hide

The rest are green beans from the garden, red bell pepper, and yes, spinach. I put a lid on it so it got somewhat steamed as well as sautéed hence the look. An unintentional but awesome side effect of trying to cook it faster lol it worked.

Anyway, I think we do have some actual asparagus as well as a ton of cucumbers and tomatoes from the garden and even more hamburger and chicken (since I think you said you can’t eat red meat on the diet??) that we can make a lot less well done :lau

But yes it was very good. :D

:lau I love this!! This is excellent advice! Thank you! I wonder if mine has a baseball bat or a club.... :lau cause I get a lot of stupid ideas LOL

Green beans? Whow, you got some bodaciously big green beans out of your garden.

Oh man, HAMBURGER! I haven't touched red meat since last year. I was thinking earlier how I could work my way around hamburger to make chili. Maybe use ground turkey and make two crockpots, one for me one for DH.....

I forgot to collect a few so they got ginormous. :lau

Here’s a picture of them freshly picked last week lol you can see the size better here. I normally don’t let them get quite this big but yeah, they still get pretty good size! And producing like crazy too!!

We have chicken too and plenty more vegetables if you’re hungry. :D

And that sounds like an excellent idea!! I bet it would be great!!

My green beans didn't do well this year. I tried in ground and in pots but neither did anything other than produce a few beans. I think I had enough to mix in with potato and squash chunks and roast but that was it. Too wet, too cold. I thought about planting a second crop but my heart wasn't in it at that point.

I just read where UC Berkeley and other universities in California have closed due to fires and the electrical shut downs. Sounds as though things are getting really bad out there.

Stay safe, all California members.
