The Old Folks Home

Lots of widowmakers hanging up in those trees! I hope people who work on their own property know how to safely handle those.

Yes! There are tons! We didn’t feel safe in there so got out right after that.

I think we’re gonna hire someone to get those ones as well as cut down some other trees we have marked and possibly the huge pine cause it’s just so big but idk yet.

But yeah, we would never attempt those on our own.

We did take the chainsaw and chop up the smaller oak some but it was basically already down and low to the ground. And we cut some of the baby pines and maples down but those are tiny.

We know better than to be hanging around near widow makers. :D

There’s actually some in the back too that we should probably get.

we have several here also talking of renting a cherry picker then go after all this fall

That’s a good idea.

Widow makers are horrible.

We've had our share of them. They never get easier to handle.

Yes they’re definitely horrible!! Thankfully we never really go in the woods anyway so if they’re deep enough in we usually just leave them and/or don’t even know about them but these ones are near the edge and also have to clean up in/around there so I think we’ll hire a tree person.

Got the generator up and running and as suspected, the internet came back online shortly after. Still trying not to use it too much though. I’m out watching the chickens right now. :D
I love chicken TV!

Dd #1 is still doing some of her math course online. I baked a pie. Middle granddaughter's extra credit assignment was to taste something made of pumpkin, and tell whether she liked it or not. We bough a Mrs. Smiths deep dish Pumpkin Custard pie, and a can of whipped cream. I water bath baked it. It turned out sooooooo good. Great assignment!
