The Old Folks Home

DH just re-graded the driveway, so I’m going to dig up our markers. He usually plows with his tractor and he knows where the driveway is pretty well since he is often busy sculpting it! But in the dark it’s a different story. Also, our neighbor often swings by in his pickup and plows a bit of the excess - sweet of him, especially if we get ice on top of a lot of snow. DH’s antique (1948) tractor has its limits.

Nice to have the tractor if you need it not enough here to warrant the Son has a Kawasaki side by side we use that allot when it comes to moving the feed or shavings saves doing it one by one or having BF put the leaves in the chicken yard or hauling twigs to burn we do have a riding mower

He loves that tractor! And his other ancient vehicles. He brags about how easy it is to fix. He just ordered all the parts to do a complete brake job - $143 with taxes and shipping! He will do the work himself.

We use it to mow, plow snow, and carry stuff (firewood, wood chips) around. It’s great!

I love your Tut!
Thanks. He's developing into a great rooster considering he is only 6 months old. He crowed at 4.5 weeks and when the flock leader died last month he stepped right up to bat. Strictly a hands off boy but he will eat out of my hand. As long as he does his job and stays respectful I can live with that.

Our tractor is more important than our cars.....seriously! For all the above mentioned reasons here also.

Since I've never had to deal with snow, I didn't think about having to mark the driveway to be able to find it. Hmmmmm.
Yep.

I need deep ditches all along the driveway so it drains well and fast and doesn't get soupy and start to swallow cars. Soupy roads happen in the spring.

In the winter with a good snow storm, or just a little super dry fine snow, it blows all over, fills up the ditches, and you look out and see a perfectly featureless flat white landscape.

Then how do you plow the road, and not slide into those ditches? The ditches that you can no longer see. :barnie

Road markers.
