The Old Folks Home

@getaclue we think alike. I say trap that little piggy and send him to market!

As for pea coats we had a patient who gifted me a navy pea coat. He had 'outgrown it' girth wise and none of his daughters could wear it so he gave it to me. Man is that thing warm.

Actually cooking three meals a day on a wood stove isn't all that hard. Did it here for 4 years and got quite good at it. You can cook the best slow roasted roasts on top of the stove that you have ever tasted. Neighbor still has theirs and it has an adjustable heat oven to it. They use it all the time in the winter.

As for sticker shock....yeah....I'm old. I remember mom sending me to the grocery store with 50 cents for a gallon of milk and loaf of bread. I could keep the change. I still remember getting 7 cents to call my own. Big money when you are 10 years old....and it's 1963.:hit

OH heck I rode my horse up to safeway that had just opened like or 5 miles from us there was this housing development Boeing brought a bunch of Englishmen and their families to be the engineers this was one of the places they put them farmland where the farmer that owned had passed alone no kids

I had to tell DH that I could no longer do the vacuuming as it made my neck sore the next day from the repetitive movement.
Maybe you need a Roomba! Nah, the dogs would just eat it.

I mentioned making a pen, luring it in, worming it, giving it good grain, and water, then butchering it for our freezer. Dh was shocked and appalled at the idea.
City boy, eh?

Micro the bus dispatcher won't let me go to the PO because "no one else wants to go."
You know DD, I'm really growing a great dislike for that dispatcher. Is a stop at the dang PO for 2 minutes going to kill you or anyone else on the bus??? Being "seniors" they probably have plenty of time to kill anyway and would be happy for a few more minutes out. Might even want something at the PO since they are there.

I wish you lived near me, I'd be happy to take you to the PO. Of course I have no real need to go there. If I need stamps, I have DW bring some home. If I need something mailed that isn't a "slap a stamp on it and put it in the mailbox", I give it to DW. But I'd take you other places you need to go as well.

For the past few days, in the wee hours of the morning, a pig has been showing up. It's just starting to get it's tusks. On one side, it has markings like it might have been a domestic pig that escaped from a farmer. I saw the other side of it this morning. What it looks like to me, is that a domestic pig escaped, bred with a wild one, and this is one of the mixed offspring.

I mentioned making a pen, luring it in, worming it, giving it good grain, and water, then butchering it for our freezer. Dh was shocked and appalled at the idea.
It sounds like a fun adventure to me!
