The Old Folks Home

I gave up all pop over a year ago. We quit cold turkey and don't miss it a bit. I liked Diet Coke and DH liked diet Pepsi but a few months ago while eating out we both ordered a pop. Neither one of us could stand the taste and it burned our throat. Now we drink water or iced tea when we eat out.

@CapricornFarm, have you tried Stevia? The flavor is a little different but once I got my taste buds wrapped around it I liked it.

As for left over turkey, since I'm the only one that eats it, I make sure to buy a small 10 pounder and split it in half. I'm down to breast meat now. may make shepherd's pie out of what is left. DH has some roast beef left over.I'll probably make some for him also. I need to put the meat grinder I bought late last summer to work.

This afternoon I put away my fall decor and started dragging out the winter/Christmas stuff. GAWD I hate putting lights on a tree.

They have trees with lights already on, if you like artificial trees.

I rarely have soda. I do like when I have it though.

I will be making turkey soup this weekend with the left overs. I have enough bones for to batches of broth

I stayed away from walmart today. We did to to CVS at Target and it was not too bad

By the time we where at wally it was also pretty quiet Ido not fool around in stores I get what I came for and get out
Me too!

I have my shopping list and when I have all the things on it, I am out of there!

My cousin called on Wednesday. I usually go Black Friday shopping with her, but I did not want to do it this year. Her daughter is a snob. Everything has to be designer stuff for her daughter's family. She wants to hit all the extremely expensive stores to snag a deal, but is on a budget, so she ends up buying only 1 or 2 items. There is NOTHING in those stores that I really care to buy, even on sale. They are VERY crowded on Black Friday. Due to fire laws regarding capacity, several of those stores have lines outside, and you have to wait your turn to get in. It's still overcrowded once you do get inside. The flu bug is making another go around, so I don't really want to be inside, around all those people. Like I told her, most of the Black Friday deals that are in the stores, are available online too. I can shop from the convenience of my home, and still get the same deals, without the risk of getting sick, without having to wait in lines, and without having to deal with crowds of people.
