The Old Folks Home

I thought the same thing, @ronott1. I mean, these people do some serious stuff. IV chemos, IV treatments for RA, IM treatments for Osteoarthritis and other forms of arthritis. I can just imagine their frustration with party kids calling from the nearby university on Monday mornings asking them for 'infusions' that will cure their hangovers.

Almost makes me wish they could trade places just once with the souls who come in and set in comfortable recliners to have toxic drugs pumped into them with the hopes of giving them a better quality of life....

Rant over......

New mouse is in. It looks almost identical to my old one. It's slightly smaller, which is a good thing, since the other was a bit too large, and this one works, which is a wonderful improvement.
:wee

I drink mostly water and seltzer. some tea in the morning, and often a beer in the evening. Sometimes a glass of wine. I just keep trying to cut back on beef and increase vegetables and fruit. If I can do that, I should be able to keep making my diet more healthy!
Beer is made from vegetation and wine is made from fruit so you are all set.

I'm really craving some prime rib now - even prefer it to ice cream - did I say that :th
 call 911! DD is sick!

I don't know if I mentioned it but our 18 year old Siamese mix cat, Cash, who is diabetic, popped out of remission after three years and isn't doing well.
:( :hugs

This is a passion for learning One of my best qualities.
One of MANY qualities!

since the price was held over from Black Friday, and we only had 5 minutes left to get it for $50.00. Great price!
$50 for a MOUSE?? Must be one heck of a rodent.

People are weird!

Juice infusions? Maybe don't drink so much LOL!
I was thinking oil or vinegar infusions.

Been away in Santa Fe and just now catching up. Our T-Day turkey was a breast done in the Instant Pot and it fed us through four assorted meals: Thanksgiving proper, turkey tetrazzini, turkey tacos, omelet filling.

TOO LARGE turkeys can be cleaved in half and roasted that way, plus all the assorted meats if you parse it further. One year I let some Thanksgiving toms go to Easter. They were true Goliaths. (72 and 75 lbs live weight = 57 and 64+ lbs dressed.) We dispatched them via an old oak tree on the property. One was so heavy that he broke the rope he was suspended from and rolled down the hill. Oy. I had to use a wheelbarrow to transport them to the back of the house for plucking. One we bartered to a restaurant in exchange for some tile work the owner was handy in doing. He roasted his whole for a stunning restaurant presentation, but admitted he was exhausted as it went in the oven at 2:00 a.m. (I understand he had to bearhug the thing to get it to the table.) The other we parceled into pieces for our consumption. The drumstick/thigh combo could've been mistaken for a ham and weighed about 10 lbs. We had A LOT of turkey meat in the freezer: rolled breast roasts, ground, stir-fry, etc. Really tasty to have homegrown, but there's no desire to process turkeys ever again.

I, too, will wear out a computer mouse quicker than anything. Usually by the time my laptop bites the dust there have been at least two mice that went to tech disposal. Never have worn out a keyboard.

Tell you what get a clue I am staunch against anything I have talk to spell check is enemy to start I would would have it cussing like a truck driver I am dead set against any of the new gadgets that they have out now they say is this or that listening to you ?

Oh my Gawd What an image Turkey sans hed a rollin down the hill....

did you give the Gathers NO Moss Turkey...

Soory I am dog tired. I had a melt down today and somewhere in there I had a panic attack too. My poor son he was ready to rip someone a newAssHat... Cant yell at the feds and I nee the cooperation of the bank.... But DAng I hired the bank To do a specific job. Follow Through didn not happen.... Plus I had an amazon charge on Monday for 128 Dollars preciecly charged to The trust Fund account.

Someone else will get a reaming if I fin out who did it... But it looks bad.... it looks like I was using that account for my own purposes....

Any hoo I had to decompress by doing a little work in the kitchen... pot and pan clean up And for some odd reason bEfore the melt down I brought in the frozen other half of the turkey... With thoughts of cooking it this weekend and basically augmenting the slim pickins off the first Turk Half...

So I read my mail.... Melt down one... I was already winded from bringing in the frozen halfie. Then I checked my bank account... and I started crying... I dont think my son has ever seen me full on Cry... Choked up yeah...

So I got out my new cutting board and ran hot water over the halfie... Yah Yah I know... But it was eitther that or put it on the floor and hack at it with the biggest Cleaver... I got the wings off as they defrosted and used my new Filet knife to worry at deboning a mostly frozen Halfie.

I extracted a wooden mallet from my jewelry tools... Never did find a use for it.... So I banged on that cleaver because it scares me... I have no idee what possessed me to buy it., But it was very satisfying to whack that Cleaver throuigh Joints.

I chopped the neck into two pieces, I removed the back bone and chopped it I cut up the wing and shoulder attachments and then I disected the Leg and thigh... By then I was done messing with this thing and was able to extract the breast meat....

When I turned to the veg that goes into stock I wasd be spattered with Turkey Carnage... had to take a pit bath right there and clean the cutting board... And turn it over.... Some where along in there I had brought home some Chicken Pozole for lunch.... It was scooted around on the floor in its bag while I dealt with my daemons... Still haven't eaten it.

So Now I wait till it boils and then turn it down to a simmer... I have added a cup of Vinegar There are six gallons of water in that pot Not too much....

so in the pot is chpped up turkey bones and all, Seasoning packet made of perforated silicone Filled with bay leaf Pepper corns, Pickling seasoning and Other stuff... put in six onions cut into quarters and a measly few Carrots... And all the rest of the Celery... Oh and two heads of garlic split in half.

ONce the breast meat is done out it comes and I will dice it up for Stew augmentation.... The rest can stay in there till the broth is done. This will be bone broth by the way.

Bone broth has gelatin in it and when you chill it in the refrigerator it acts like Jello... needs to go low and slow for about 48 hours... By then everything in the pot will have given its all...

Geletihn doesent survive The temperatures of the pressure canner... When It comes out it will be just simply awesome broth to use in other dishes.

If I want to Drink the bone broth for health benefits...the only way is to freeze it for long term. I am hoping it will help stop my indigestion and aid in my digestion.

I finally cranked up my Big Burkey for drinking water. its calmed my heart burn quite a bit... By the time I had those filters primed I was coverd in water and the floor was covered in water... But I got yer done... That was yesterdy.

Sorry I had ahalf a cup of reall coffee today.... BAD idea...

going to play some games and settle down a while its 9:00 here and I am tired but not sleepy.

For what its worth I play Solitare and Sudoko... while listening to a new Wire Wrap artist... Oh boy she gave me some ideas today.
