The Old Folks Home

We're getting a new Christmas tree this year. Our old one bit the dust. The stores are so picked over, there are very few trees left. We ordered online from Walmart, and it will be delivered. In the meantime, I rearranged 2 pieces of furniture in my foyer, and have the space all ready for when the tree comes.

Oh, he brought home 2 nice long strands of lights from work that they threw out, because they didn't want to hunt, and replace the burned out bulbs. 180 lights per strand. One strand has 1 bulb out, and the other stand has 2 bulbs out. Unless you hunt for them, you can't even notice. In the meantime, we have packets of spare replacement bulbs here. He can put the bulbs in before stringing them, or not. Either way, it's enough to do our hedges. Oh, and they are the ones that do patterns, and different speeds. Can't beat the price.

Oh, one of my cats fell in the pool last night. I ran out to grab the net, and she swam to the edge, and hopped out before I could even get to the net. I grabbed a towel, and the cat, then began drying her off, while snuggling her for body heat. She was so wet, I had to get a second towel. She growled, but didn't try to claw, or bite me. Once she was dried pretty good, I wrapped her up for warmth. I would have gotten the blow dryer, but I knew that would result in a battle, that I would lose. After a little while, she jumped on the subwoofer, which is warm, and began licking herself, which finished drying her off, and fluffing her back up. When done, she jumped in the bed, and got under the covers. She's fine, but today she isn't going anywhere near the pool.

I wonder what she was doing that had her so distracted she fell in the pool!

While these advantages may not mean much to many, the biggest advantage is less strain on the wrist, hand, and fingers.
And that is of paramount importance!!!

Most of the time it's easy to spot as I do not fly JetBlue
I do! Best airline out there for legroom and entertainment. But I know that isn't why you referenced it as an example ;)

Looks like a good value.

Oh that is so bad...funny but bad.

DD you made me smile. Thank you and I agree. Shoveling snow in the dark rules. So does taking walks in the snow during a full moon.

Never had a cat fall in a pool but about 4 years ago before he got sick with degenerative myelopathy, our ACD Dingo went missing. We had been out for a walk and we saw him head for the pond. Didn't think anything of it. The pond was frozen as it was February. When he didn't come back home I started calling for him. When he didn't come back in right away I went out looking for him and he met me in the pasture, dripping wet. Poor guy had tried to walk around on the ice around the edge of the pond where unknown to us, it was thin. The water wasn't deep there, maybe a foot or two at the most but he had broke through and worked his butt off getting out.

Like the kitty, he got towels a blanket and the best place near the fireplace.

Thank goodness you don't have a frozen pool where you are!

The animals usually get out of the frozen trap, surf or etc. Sadly the owner often dies trying to save the pet...that will get out on it's own.

About 5 years ago a BYC member and Her DD died in a frozen pond trying to save a Llama. The neighbors were alerted to the tragedy when they found the wet Llama roaming the neighborhood.

A man died here two weekends ago in a similar manner up in the Sierras. Dead man, Dog was fine
