The Old Folks Home

Weird day Xmas ,woke up with stomach pains, rib pains, pain in lower back & headache. Don't know what I did to deserve that. Then later had major vertigo attack & vomiting.
Maybe I'm working through all the carp, so the New Year won't have any.:fl

Merry Christmas @CapricornFarm. Like mentioned, sure hope you are feeling better.

I'm sitting here on the sofa in a food coma. Last year I couldn't eat. I had no appetite thanks to the methotrexate I was on plus I had a roaring case of the flu. I don't even remember cooking Christmas dinner although I know I did. Nor do I remember eating much of what I cooked.

This year I ate! Christmas cookies, turkey breast roasted to perfection and juicy. Wild rice, buttered baby carrots, Kings Hawaiian rolls (okay, I got lazy and didn't bake home made bread rolls this year) and pumpkin pie. I ate first, seconds and munched on cookies all afternoon. I can safely say I am gorged and ready to go back on my diet tomorrow and stay on it till next Christmas.

Temps here were in the mid 60s. DH and I took a walk in the timber with the two older dogs and heard robins in the trees that stay here over the winter months. I'm sure the weather has them completely confused. It's confusing everyone at the moment, but reality tells us that it will be 'winter' again and the snow will be flying before we realize it.

This Christmas goes down in the history books as a good one for our family.

Hope all of yours' was also.
Sounds like a great day. We had lovely weather, but the power went out for almost 3 hours! Had my 2 chicks in my shirt.:lau

Sorry DD, hope you feel better soon.

@drumstick diva, sorry to hear that you were under the weather. No fun at all, especially on a holiday. Last Christmas, three days before the holiday I stopped in to the Salvation Army to pick up a couple of stuffed animals for the dogs as gifts. I heard somebody coughing on the far side of the store but felt safish as the area I needed to go to was in the back of the store and away from the owner of that deep loose cough so I took my time doing some browsing along the way. About 25 feet from the toys, I stopped to look at a pair of jeans that caught my eye and to my horror heard 'that cough' right in front of me. Sure enough, looked up and there she was, facing away from me about 10 feet away and trying to hack up a lung.

All I could think was 'oh well, I'm s*****d, grabbed what I came in for and beat a hasty retreat. I wanted so badly to tell the woman, fergawdsake GO HOME!

Sure enough, got sick on Christmas Eve. I told dh yesterday that I barely remembered last Christmas Day because of it. Don't remember cooking. Don't remember eating. All I did was cough, run a fever and sleep. granted I took a nap yesterday but hey, turkey breast will do that to a person! And it was worth every bite.

@CapricornFarm, hugs and prayers that you get to feeling better also. Take care. Those chicks are so adorable.:love

Another 50 degree day here before reality strikes back. Then rain for two days with even a thunderstorm. I know winter is going to come and sit on our heads sooner or later...I wish it would be sooner and get the pain over with.

Gas does the big jobs better for less, as they used to say.
Unless your gas is propane and costs $4.25/gallon

When it is in the hundred f and higher here
you can proof your bread on the counter ;)

This year I ate!
And made up for last year it sounds like.

I saw a flock of robins at the in-laws yesterday. Don't these birds know they were supposed to migrate to warmer places by now?

The new rule, according to her, is that there will be NO SLIME anywhere on the property, ever.
:gig Funny how things change when the shoe is on the other foot.

Really sorry to hear you are still sick Cap; and DD, you don't need all of that either. Tell it to go away and not come back.

Good morning folks! Merry belated Christmas. We went to DDs house Christmas Eve and came home yesterday. Last night DH started feeling like crap. Few hours later it was me. He's already feeling better so I hope you are feeling better today Diva. We probably had similar bugs although we didn't have the vertigo. I'm hoping to get some motivation today but so far I've spent the whole day in my jammies. Christmas day was fun with the grands and I'm really glad all of my projects are done for now.
