I saw 1 rat tonight. There will be fresh bait tomorrow. The fence seems to have discouraged all the other critters. I'm glad.

I had two hens sitting on a pile of eggs today when I went out to clean the nesting boxes.

Too early, I told them and sent them packing but it's just a matter of time....

Good morning all. Happy Sunday. Sitting here sipping coffee and listening to the Amish buggies trundle by. They have church services every other week and they are held in a different family's home. No churches. Afterwards they have a big communal meal then go home. Usually in the evenings somebody has a 'sing along' that will last well past 11pm. So buggies up and down the road all day today.

I have one sitting on a nest. Dh said she got mean when he tried to get the eggs from under her. He wants me to let her hatch them out. Of course, he said that once before, and she was not broody. She knows he's not suppose to be in there, and doesn't like him. We shall see.
