yep yep yep... Ground rods here have to go deep. Even then getting the animal to ground out to get shocked is iffy at best. We're suppose to get a few more days of rain. I sure hope we do. We NEED it.
Dh, and I have had this ongoing minor dispute about my electric fence charger. He kept wanting to order a new one. I told him it was not needed, there is nothing wrong with this fence charger. No, it's not putting out what it should, even when tested with the meter. I'm aware of that, but the problem is not the fencer, it's the grounding. Nope, we need one with more power. Hmmm, the one he ordered, does have the capability of producing a bit more bite. BUT, it's still not going to work at optimum, if there is a problem with the grounding, I argued. I maintained it was a matter of the ground being too dry, and he should put in the ground rods the way I wanted, and it would fix the problem.
To prove me wrong, he got another ground rod, and put everything the way I wanted. When everything was done, he grabbed the fence tester. That baby's got some seriously good kick now. He was very surprised.
His past attempts at planting a garden here, haven't produced much. It's a fairly new garden. The first time a new garden is planted, I don't expect much, for obvious reasons. This is not a new garden now, but he's still not getting much of anything to produce. I've complained about 2 things. 1. He doesn't plant enough at a time. 2. He over waters. He complained it was the soil. I argued that the soil was optimum. Well, he had the soil tested. It's fantastic. Couldn't ask for better. When asked to describe what was going on, he told them. Hmmmm, it would seem he's not planting enough, and he's watering too much.
The drip irrigation supplies he ordered have arrived, so he's been out there, in between the rains, getting it set up. It has been decided that I will have half of the garden to do with as I please, and he will have the other half. We did this before, at the other place we lived, so it's not a big deal. When my half of the garden grew, he began paying attention, and copying what I was doing. It was a success, and we had plenty of food. He's forgotten how we did it at the other place. That's ok. I'll get my half started, and when it gets to growing good, he'll take it over.
That Rooster is going to eat the stars!
It's supposed to be at least 10° cooler tomorrow, if that makes you feel any better! Or you could just move to VA...
Morning! Still here and still shoveling snow! It is great exercise..., really.
