The Old Folks Home

It is 92F here at 1:33pm.
That is just a bit higher than here yesterday.
85° now but it won't hit max for a couple of hours. Supposed to be close to 90°, might go over, the next few days.

So I have a request for all my friends who live where it is too freaking hot:
PLEASE STOP SHARING!!!!!!

Thank you.

Check with one of the Duck forum folks. He may be able to pass the piece without surgery
I hope so because I think spending $2K on a duckling is unlikely.

I have the feeling that a broken hip would put a kink in my life style so I take the shot.
I would make the same decision. I really hope you don't have such bad effects from it this time.

He said if it wasn't for the beer and fried deli food sales, the place would close. Sad. We always support local businesses. Not many do these days but head to Kirksville or Macon or even Moberly for their shopping.
That is sad. I buy as much as I can at the little family operated grocery store which I still think has way more stuff than they should be able to fit in a building that size. When they were online order, curbside pickup the deli was closed and they had a $50 minimum. Given I buy a fair bit of deli meats I wasn't sure I would hit the minimum. Fortunately the slowly opened back up. The deli is still shy of some of the things I usually buy though :(

Our local store is smallish. They are a regional chain. It's usually hard to find bread in stock unless you hit the store after they restock. They don't have the storage space to keep a lot of restock for their bread isle so they usually run out. Main reason I started making our own bread. I do buy hamburger and hot dog buns there but what I really like are their meats.

Right now they are having curbside pick up with an emailed order. It is working okay. Except that yesterday I had to go through a 15 pound bag of potatoes that I got 2 weeks ago and found 8 pounds of rotten spuds complete with maggots. :sick

I told DH now I understand why people drive to HYVEE to get their groceries.

I did post on the Duck Forum. So far, nobody seems to know much about this situation.

I moved him from his brooder (he's ready) into a very large dog crate, on my screened in back porch. I want him to have plenty of room to move around, but not to overdo it. I also put the chicks I hatched, into a large dog crate, next to the duck's crate. They can see, and "talk" to each other. We spend a lot of time on the porch, so between us, and the chicks, it should not get lonely.
