The Old Folks Home

@CSolis I would offer to buy the dogs from the people. Bet they would take whatever you offer them. Animals know when they are loved. Bless you for being a good fur mother.

@CapricornFarm. I don't think I have enough rat traps to do that but I think I will put out a mouse trap or two.

I saw a mouse in the new coop this morning. Couldn't figure out where it went but I found a hole in one of the older (new construction 4 years ago) 2X4s that makes up the wall between the two coops, stuck my finger in it to see how big it was and touched...you guessed it, the mouse. Ran the little sucker down I did and like I told my husband, got my dose of bad Karma for the day. Then I hardware clothed the holes I found.
I catch mice by the tail and then toss them in a 5 gallon bucket. They're pretty good swimmers.

Welp, it's like this... the old lady next door says she can't get her dog Meine to eat.. Meine was almost afraid of the bowl of food as though it had fire ants in it... she's over that..
;)
I offered to take Lilbit, Old lady was happy as the dog was a 'drop off', daughter comes over pitching a fit, but says... If you pay half the vet bills I'll share him with you.. I said Nope... Three days later Mr Po Po is knocking on my door about a dog dispute.. I say no dispute, not paying vet bills on a dog not mine.. dog likes it here..he can come and go as he pleases... And that was that. A fine how do you do from a neighbor when I moved in.
I don't have to own the dogs to be a blessing to them.

I sincerely believe that you are just that, dear lady.:hugs

Yeah, but only until they sink like rocks. :rolleyes:

Good Morning! Grab a cup and enjoy.

To me, "drink responsibly" means don't spill it.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

Age 60 might be the new 40, but 9:00 pm is the new midnight.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

It's the start of a brand new day, and I'm off like a herd of turtles.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

The older I get, the earlier it gets late.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

When I say, "The other day," I could be referring to any time between yesterday and 15 years ago.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

I remember being able to get up without making sound effects.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

I had my patience tested. I'm negative.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

When you ask me what I am doing today, and I say "nothing," it does not mean I am free. It means I am doing nothing.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

I finally got eight hours of sleep. It took me three days, but whatever.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

I run like the winded.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

I hate when a couple argues in public, and I missed the beginning and don't know whose side I'm on.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

When someone asks what I did over the weekend, I squint and ask, "Why, what did you hear?"

* * * * * * * * * * * *

When you do squats, are your knees supposed to sound like a goat chewing on an aluminum can stuffed with celery?

* * * * * * * * * * * *

I don't mean to interrupt people. I just randomly remember things and get really excited.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

When I ask for directions, please don't use words like "east."

* * * * * * * * * * * *

Don't bother walking a mile in my shoes. That would be boring. Spend 30 seconds in my head. That'll freak you right out.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

My luck is like a bald guy who just won a comb.

Trugs = Rolling garbage cans (slang in my household, anyway)

Actually, they can be anything used move debris or carry stuff. I do have a bunch of the plastic two-handled basket-like ones in assorted sizes and colors that come in very handy when repotting plants or harvesting apples.

Thanks for the laugh of the day, @CSolis. It's sad when it hits that close to home, though.

A couple of things I want to announce.

I did do a google search for chickadoodle's name in her home town and nothing ominous like an obituary showed up. Which is real good news.

And second, I dropped her a card today, asking about her and asking her to log in when she feels like it and let us know how she is doing because we are all concerned about her.

Now I'm racing out to face the the day like a herd of turtles.....that are using walkers..:gig

Today I am having an allergic reaction because of all the cleaning I did yesterday. Even windows! :lau I can look forward to more of the same tomorrow. Grandkids and their parents coming on Friday. Did you know you can be excited and dread something at the same time? Excited to see them, dreading the arguments that they will have with each other. For 2 weeks!

Rejoice! You at least get to see your grandchildren, hug them, show them things, and love them.

I am hopeful!

In today's world, obits do not always show up in the local paper. Often it is online, like legacy.com.
