The Old Folks Home

I don't watch TV period and haven't for years. My sister was paying for cable to keep our father occupied and in one place (his favorite chair). He passed away years ago and I told her I never watch tv. She still pays for cable
I watch movies and tv series at tubi. Any news I get, I get from reliable sources on the intardwebs.

I never watch mainstream tv, meaning ABC, NBC, CBS but I do turn on stations like Comet and Grit and either listen to sci fi or westerns while I'm working in the kitchen.

Mainly we watch movies and made for TV stuff via Amazon Prime Video. If I'm watching TV I want escapism. Too much of what is on mainstream tv is either preachy or telling me how I'm supposed to think or act or reflecting how cruddy the world is. No thanks. I'd rather watch a good old Zombie Apocalypse or a good cowboy and Indian throw down (I always root for the Indians! Even though they always lose :hit) I always tell my husband that if it has space ships and space battles, or horses, Indians, Cowboys in the story, I'll watch it although I have been watching The Musketeers via PV. There are horses in that one. Beautiful Friesian's in that series!

The cat got up on the bed. She stretched out more. By now, she's stretched almost completely across the middle of the bed.
Seems you and the cat have swapped places in the "how the species sleeps" description.

I was first introduced to Fresians when I watched the movie 'Lady Hawk'. Remember that? And then the tv mini series 'Napoleon and Josephine, a Love Story'. Remarkable horses.

Yush... #1 and 2 are in the brooder now, #3 is near hatching and finally saw a hair line crack in #5.. Spiffy day if you ask me!View attachment 2376563
Congratulations! Beautiful chick. I love the black coloring. What breed are they?

Lady Hawk is one of my very favorite movies.

I opened the door between my two coops last night so the juvies could intermix with the oldsters. This morning the juvies were in their coop and the oldsters were visiting them.

Hey, if it works for them....I'm just anxious to get the coops down from 3 to 2 now that the weather is turning colder. I'll probably shoo everyone together tonight or tomorrow so I can get the fencing panels built and installed before the bachelors move in.

@microchick That lil one is from my pair of Black Sex Links.. It's cute as a button. This one is from a Black Sex Link cockerel over one of my BA/SH x Black Silkie crosses.. I love the dots on the feathers!

The one behind her is her sibling and I assume cockerel as he's just now feathering out at 3 weeks..
This one is a Barred Rock by another hen of the same BA/SH x BS cross.. She' has more distinct patterns/barring..

All of them are jet black with white markings, but it's hard to get that to show up in a photo. The 3 babies from my Barred Rock cockerel are smaller than the 2 from the Black Sex Linked cockerel. I believe I have one cockerel from each dad and will pair them up with the pullets from the other dad. Outbreeding of a sort to get consistently sized offspring. Then hens are really good layers too.

I don't watch tv much myself. Few days a week late night I like to before I go to bed.
Have you watched 'Cowboys & Aliens'?
I thought it was pretty good. You sound like me. It's either sci fi or a old western. I'm not much into zombie movies though, I like to keep it real like in sci fi and apocalyptic movies :p
Apocalyptic movies and shows are my fave just not zombies. Great thing about old westerns for is if I can't decide what I want to watch, there is always a great western available.
