The Old Folks Home

I have had a Coopers hawk hide in the trees, on low branches, and just hop onto passing chickens to eat them. Supposedly that is how they hunt.
[/QUOT it was flying side ways, belly or underside had a lot of white and some gray. It's that a Cooper's hawk? Those pine trees don't look right but if I try to get through, I get stuck from every which way.
 
To be honest we started the fencing as a garden none of us could weed so cut a door for chickens to go in and out .. There had been a 4 ft field wire around the property .. Chickens had another 4 ft chicken on top of that for their yard and the original yard gate we put up keeping a labrador out ..
never had birds try to jump out unless the Lab got in
