The Old Folks Home

Thank you for all the answers about the grit. I gave them alfalfa hay as bedding and according to their poo it is a big part of their diet so I feel responsible to make sure they get the grit they need. When I was on the farm and they free ranged their needs were less of a concern. If it was hot, they found shade, cold, they found a sunny spot, predators around, they knew their hiding places, and now they can't tell me what's comfortable or uncomfortable, I have to guess

Christmas gifts have finally all been ordered. Most of the delay was coordinating with Dd #1. She's the one that knows what the other family members are getting for the kids, and what she's gotten for them.

Almost all the things will arrive before Christmas. There a a few things that won't get here until later. That's fine by me. They usually get so much, that having something come every day for a few days after Christmas, is not a bad thing.
