The Old Folks Home

Glad you didn't get the really heavy dump Sour. I don't know where you live in Jersey but I saw that Newton got 32"!!!!

Snowing here now. It stopped in the middle of the day but started back up. No way I'll be able to measure given all the drifting with the 15 MPH North winds with higher gusts. That will make clearing the drive/parking area for DW to get in NOT fun. Might have to get up early and clear some more in the morning. Aren't retired people supposed to stay in bed late on bad weather days?

She had chest pains last evening but her blood pressure was only slightly elevated and no numbness. My uncle had a heart attack at 40 yrs (not over weight) and my mom and uncle had heart attacks in their 70's. So a fire man neighbor took her to the ER to play it safe and she had the attack at the hospital. She is 58. She said she feels a lot better but I'm waiting to hear more. I wanted to be careful how much shoveling I do because of arthritis- want thinking about the ticker. I will leave some of the shoveling for tomorrow.
They put 2 stents in.
Heart attack symptoms are different for Women from Men.

It is good that the neighbor took her in to the ER.

We ended up with the predicted 18". Daughter lives in Andover, and they got just about as much as Newton. Daughter and SIL are in Vermont skiing so grandson was home to keep their drive open. He said he had friends over shoveling while he was plowing. Gender of friends was not indicated.

Dh's mom is in the hospital. She reacted to the covid shot. He's sort of sitting on standby, in case he needs to go up there.

I FINALLY had Dd #2 take my little vacuum cleaner to the repair shop. It's an older Hoover stick type vacuum, I got about 5 years ago. I needed the little wheels underneath, and wanted them to replace the belt(s). There was a problem with where the dirt was going in the dirt cup. I thought it might need a new seal. They explained that somewhere inside, not in the normal airflow track, over a long time they get a build up of dust, sand, etc. They have to take it apart to clean that area. They're fixing everything now. No, I don't need a new beater bar. The one on it is only about 4 months old. It'll be like new when I get it back. I'm so happy.

I've looked, and the little stick vacs they're making now, just don't have the power, and capabilities mine has. Yes, I have a heavy vacuum, but only use it on the outside "foot wiping carpeted mats". The lighter one does as good a job on my tile floors, and because it's not so heavy, I use it a lot more often. That's why I try to take it in every year, or so to have it "tuned up".

Our new outside sconces came in. Dh is putting them up now. They look really nice. Dh also bought some Bose outdoor speakers, to go in the screened in patio. He likes music when he swims out there. We had been using some old speakers I had from years ago. They've seen better days, and were not made for outdoor use. I'm surprised they've held up this long. With the new paint job, and all the finishing touches, our house is really looking good. We've still got the white trim to paint, then it's all done outside. That's when it will be time to begin on the inside.

You do have quite a bit of excitement going on at your place!
