The Old Folks Home

Good Morning.. my teeth are in and waiting on the wild berry muffins to cool off enough to have one, or two or.....
Lil peepster passed away while I slept last night. All good.. At least I didn't have to do it.. All on the Lord's timeline. He was a loved baby for sure.
it's still sad when one goes :hugs

Good morning, OF.

No Agway here anymore. With no forewarning one day it just closed. :idunno They were a great store and did a great business.
That’s so sad! I love our local one although they don’t call it Agway. There’s a few other ones around too. They’re great!

An even sadder part is that what once was a great facility is now vacant and unused. Large feed mill on one side of main street and large store and storage buildings on the other side. They carried/sold everything.

Ok, so I didn't have enough coffee cans to do separate tubs of water and tea.. some I just added half tea and half water to their tubs.. They are drinking it up like soda pop. Makes me feel better knowing there's something nutritious in the water. The ones that got two containers are drinking it equally. I wonder if chickens have a sense of smell and taste?
I bet they do. Helps them figure out what is good to eat.

Depending on the configuration of the house that could be an easy fix.

I got what they had at TSC. I'll have to look at the Carhartt site to see what else is available.

That isn't at all uncommon. Generally speaking one doesn't often need to access the backside of the valve body. Of course it WOULD be nice if the plumbers would put in accessible shutoffs for shower bodies so you can change the valve without shutting off the entire house.

I don't know if that would work in sub 0°F temps. Plus the commercial ones have thermostats though I guess you could plug yours into a ThermoCube.
That's what I do. I have also used light bulbs, and you can use various wattage depending on the weather.

That’s terrible 😭 I wonder why they closed?

Their sense of taste is from what I have read, lacking. I think they can taste 'something' though as mine definitely have favorite things they like to eat as treats.

I've got some pet grade alfalfa coming to try on my birds....right now we have about 6 shipments from Amazon and Walmart.com being held captive by Fed Ex and UPS waiting for our road to get cleared before the attempt delivery.

Maybe this June the way things are going.
I hope you can get deliveries again soon!

A long time ago, K-Mart closed in Woodland. The Abandoned building was taken over by Drug addicts.

Now the building is a TSC and a couple of other stores.

It did take about 10 years to get there though

Thanks Ron, we do too. It's been about a week now since Fed Ex and UPS have made deliveries for us. I went out and looked at the road today, snow packed but passable. I don't know what their problem is with it other than they are driving 2 wheel drive trucks.

It wouldn't be so alarming except we have two boxes of syringes for our diabetic cat that are in limbo along with food for our girl cats sow e are hoping that they get here sooner rather than later.

It's up to 14 degrees here with light snow falling. I took a big bowl of diced boiled potatoes, still hot, for the birds this morning when I took water out for them. All I could tell them was to hang in there. It's supposed to be in the 40s by the weekend. I'm ready to get rid of this snow. I'll even be happy to see mud in its place!

I'm sorry C.:hit:hugs In deed he was loved a lifetime in a few short days.

I've been looking at the Carhart site and Amazon. I am really liking the bib overalls that they have. Price isn't bad either considering how long they last. DH told me to pick out something I liked and get it.

Whow! Do any of you ladies have the bibs and how does the sizing run on them? True? Loose, Tight? Etc
