The Old Folks Home

Tell our weather people they are all telling us we need more rain :he
I think the difference might be that Washington State gets rain in the Summer. We do not here so our reservoirs are critical. Storage is very low currently since this is the second year of drought for us.

99% of our rain and snow comes from October to late March. It is hard to comprehend but I literally will not see rain until then. Months of no rain.

Sat down with some mindless TV on for shelling and it was only a couple of shows. Will be doing that frequently over then next couple of days as more peas swell in the shell for harvesting. (I picked maaaybe about 1/4 of them today.)
When I was a teenager, my mom picked the peas and beans, and it was my job to shell and snip. Sitting in a bathing suit, in the shade, go jump in Torch Lake to cool off... yeah, I got the easy part of the job.

My Grandmother won a prize as the fastest bean snipper in Central Lake, MI when she was a young woman.

"Thought you were downsizing " she says,
