The Old Folks Home

fed the birds this morning checked the setting hen nothing, went to feed the evening time noticed a baby in the coop ( lost it ) dead, I know it happens still doesn't feel liked a did my job of looking closer and checking more often on the hatching time.
Some broodies just aren't good mamas.

:hugs

The last set that my broodies hatched, they hatched 3... I think they let 2 run off to get chilled and die.

:idunno

So I put the broody with the last chick in the top only of a chicken tractor.

In a small space she did fine. The single is still alive... but MALE. -sigh-

Anyway... my point.... it does at times go horribly wrong... and often there is no way to know until AFTER it has gone horribly wrong.

:hugs

Hurts the heart... but don't beat yourself up.

I'm so sorry. Usually saying 'bleeder' or 'bleed' is associated with a blood vessel that has ruptured. What the cause of the blood vessel to rupture is is something you are going to have to pry out of the doctor.

My mother had a bleed from an ulcer in her stomach. She passed a lot of blood so where was his bleed from? Stomach or bowel or small intestine and what was the cause? A new tear or a new ulcer?

You both have been through so much and although I haven't 'seen' him I imagine his physical condition is very fragile.

You do know that you can always ask to see his chart and read the reports yourself. Those notes and reports belong to him and if you have disclosure through HIPPA you also.

But back to the original question a 'bleeder' usually means that he is bleeding from a compromised blood vessel or area be it from a vein, capillary or artery.

Prayers are with you both. I know you are exhausted. Please consider making a list of questions for the doctor when you see him. As tired as you are and as stressed as you are don't trust your memory to 'remember' everything. :hugsX2

Morning everyone. Woke up to a roaring thunderstorm this morning at 5 AM. Dogs were howling, thunder was crashing wind was blowing rain was pouring...gee that sounds like a song. Anyway. Told the dogs not in this lifetime were they going out in the middle of this and went back to sleep.

Up to 91 again today. They say the weather will break over the weekend with cooler temps but till then, 90s and storms. Sounds like summer wind down is going out with a bang!
I'm still trying to figure things out. The GI always comes before visiting hours so I don't get to see his Drs. I'm giving DH some questions to ask. The bleeding slowed down so they are watching him while on clear liquids and IV. They are taking his blood count every couple hours. Then the GI will give the verdict tomorrow whether they cauterize it or just watch him the next couple days. He has an ulcer in the small intestines but I think the Drs aren't quite sure if it's that or the esophagus.

I had a wow moment at the dentist today. I went to smile builders dentist month ago as a new patient, they said they are in network . After doing a full mouth xray- the verdict was I have 10 cavities, need a root canal and 2 crowns. Will the insurance cover it? Insurance agent says yes. But now the dentist says they are NOT in network. I have a tooth ache so I go to a family first dentist and they can't do xrays- cause the SB submitted their exray bill and even though the insurance didn't pay it for them, the work was done and they won't pay it again. After a month of back and forth and a greivance SB was found negligent and my coverage was restored. The wow moment? The new dentist says I need a root canal& Crown on the painful tooth(inflammation, not cavity) a broken tooth filled..but wait a moment...ZERO cavities!! Which dentist is right?

I have a grievance with DH dental insurance as well cause he needs 2 teeth pulled. Problem is he has inflammation in the pulp of his teeth and Novocaine doesn't work then, they call it a hot tooth and have to put him to sleep and the insurance won't approve it. But the insurance told me there's no reason the won't cover it if the dentist explains it when he tries to get it preauthorized. Maybe dentists just don't understand insurance??
