But the only way they can free range safely in a desert filled with coyotes is their 120 lb German Shepherd guardian!!

That's what I mean by telling stories! A picture is worth a thousand words, but you don't
have to read them all. Thanks for the story. :hugs

So when I reply, the pictures come up as attachments that you have to open one by one, is that correct? Then should I rather post them not in a reply...?
Ya see that little circle with an up arrow in it next to your name when I replied to you? If you click it it will take you to what I replied to, or the original post I was replying to. Simple. That's how the forum works.

So hello, old folks! I read through some of the posts, but I haven't figured out how old is old to fit the original idea of this forum? I'm a great-grandma with a 120 lb German Shepherd, a 5 lb poodle, and 15 chickens. I play the harp and hike a lot alone or with my husband in the mountains of our Arizona desert. I always bring the dogs....the chickens told me they'd rather hang around the yard. And at this time of year with the monsoons, I don't blame them!!

Any age is welcome at this thread.

Like I posted above, feather sexing is accurate for sexlinked crosses with one breed being fast feathering and the other slow.

There is a lot of mis information out there! While being fun to do, it is not reliable for selling since the error is very large for gender.
Ya know I've been thinking about this since yesterday. I was under the assumption that sex linked breeds were distinguishable as chicks by feather color not by wing feathering. I watched a YT video of chicks being feather sexed in a hatchery. But like sex-links it only works in some breeds. I believe BO are one of those breeds. If you have any better research I'd love to learn more.

Thanks! I always use my desktop Mac or BYC, so there is no arrow. Probably just on the phone app? Anyway, I did scroll back and see that it was only your quote of mine that had all the attachments instead of the pictures. Got it!
