The Old Folks Home

What is "furnace filter material" made of? I might be concerned the chickens would end up ingesting some of it.
It's either out of reach, or behind hardware cloth. It's a spun polyester, I think. It's like a soft interfacing material, about 1/16" thick.

Thank you Clue. So am I! Trying to keep it that way. Now there is the challenge.

Resting isn't in my genetic makeup.
I have learned to rest more. But both my sons and their families will be here some time in Nov.

Good Morning OF. Hope ya'll are warm this morning. Something happened here!

That's cold for here this time of year!

Interestingly enough, it's 44 here too, in Michigan.

Last night at lockup, all of the chickens were on the roost! One was on the poop board, but the rest were up there together. I wasn't expecting this to happen until the pullets began to lay, like next January.

And they were all in the same places when I opened up this morning. :clap Another milestone in the integration.

That's a little on the cool side. I believe that's where we were yesterday morning but we're showing 49 this morning, so a little warmer.
