The Old Folks Home

I love the chin and get feathers. I had trimmed the facial hair to help protect them from hawks. Now they grew back again and they are searching the sky's so often in watch of the hawks that I almost want to let them keep their good looks. I see hawks floating around about 75% of the time I go outside.
What are get feathers? Never heard that one before.

Oh heck yeah. They told me I didn't have to hold the 16 ounces of the prep back till morning. Just drink it all the day before. I thanked them. I would like to get a little sleep the night before. Also learned that the doctor hadn't seen the CT scan from my ER visit so I'm emailing it to her this afternoon.
In case it helps you any. Because of constipation I always have a hard time with the clean out- it will make me throw up because it can't move fast enough the other way. So I started using an enema before the clean out. The one time I threw up and ended up rescheduling and doing the clean out the second time. Won't happen again!

@CSolis they are beautiful birds. With my Buff O's I could tell the hens from the roosters by their legs before the saddle and hackle feathers came in. The roosters have thicker legs and toes then the pullets. Idunno. I don't see a lot of hackle or saddle feathers on either of those two sitting on the roost bar. Maybe both pullets?

As for Greystoke. He looks like a darker version of my Chip who is in the dog house right now. I put him in the bachelor pen to chill a bit since he was being mean to the Bantam Gang roosters. This morning I go in and hmmmm all the Bantam Boys are sitting up on the wide shelf. Thought they were just making sure that they didn't miss out on bread treat but nope. Looked outside and there was Chip back in with Trubel, helping him with the girls and no bantam roosters to be found.

So I spent 20 minutes chasing him around the run till he finally went in and then brought him in and trimmed a wing so hopefully he won't fly up and over into the main run again. I don't think he's too happy with me at the moment.
YOU BIG MEANIE!

It's one of those things where the phone thinks I'm making a mistake and changes my word. It's supposed to be feet feathers. We should start making English phones so it phones understand our language!
Hee hee. I know how you feel, though my fingers don't often follow my thoughts so I have to go back and correct after posting.
As for leg feathers, it's neat. They all have full pantaloons like dad, and if their feet feathers grow like his does, they are all gonna be BOZO the clown babies.

I love 'em!

So sorry Cap. I know how hard that is to go through. My mother did the same thing. She never 'quit' eating but would eat a couple bites and say 'I'm done'. I talked to the doctor about it and he said not to push her to eat more. What little she was eating was going towards keeping her heart beating. She passed peacefully a month later.

One thing to remember is that she isn't suffering. She is living in her own little world. Dementia and Alzheimer's disease is harder on the families than it is on the victim. :hugs
But i also fear i am doomed, since Dad and Aunt died with dementia

My parents both died young (58 for dad and 60 for mom) so they escaped dementia. My mom's mom had it, but her dad didn't. My mom's brother didn't, and lived to 96. I hope she got those genes and passed them to me...

I keep reading about how important what you eat and drink, as well as how much/well you sleep and exercise has to do with how young and healthy your brain stays in your later years.

My 94 year old Mom quit eating and drinking. She suffers from dementia, it's a sad state of living
:hugs

X2

I felt it was like having to work through many little "deaths". Because you morn the person that they used to be. . even though they are still alive.. and then you get used to their new normal.... then they slip a bit further away... and again you find yourself working through the entire grieving process... since it again feels very much like a death, the loss of that person you loved.....

Definitely difficult on the family.

There are great studies on dementia (and dementia has different causes/progresses differently than Alzheimers... in my family we have dementia, but not Alzheimers).

Anyway... great studies on dementia showing that walking 2 miles a day is a huge help for mental health.
