The Old Folks Home

Had to set up an emergency hospital room in the big pen. I thought it strange that Maggie allowed me to rub her chest, then went on to climb right on to my hand. So I was checking her out and found a huge gash (deep) under her wing. It was clean and dry but holy cow you could fit an egg in there. So, I got the hospital cage and set it up in the run for her where she would be comfortable and filled the hole with Bag Balm, just like I did Margaret when that happened to her. Maggie settled right in to her digs, and Bruce hops up on the board next to the cage to visit and see how she's doing. Once she's accustomed to her small space, I'm going to move her into the hoop coop with King Wheaties and his ladies. She's either his grandmother or great aunt so it's a suitable match and he's much smaller than Bruce. Margaret is in with King Wheaties as well. Margaret is an Aunt, Sara his mother.. so it's one big happy family.View attachment 2902075
Sorry your girl got hurt!

Hi everyone. We got home about 3. I inhaled a big bowl of Pennsylvania Duetch Rivvel Soup and two handfuls of cheeze it crackers, chugged down a big mug of iced tea, grabbed my pillow and blankey, slumped over on my side and fell asleep. Woke up in time to get the chickens fed and only stumbled against the wall twice so I think my head is finally starting to clear.

I came through the prep without too much difficulty. It didn't leave me with any great desire to do it again any time soon but I survived it and the colonoscopy. Doctor said I sailed through it. The only thing she found that would explain why I had the infection along with the bleed was I have diverticulosis. She took three biopsies just to make sure but said that there was no cancer, no polyps, just the diverticuli. She sent me home with orders to make sure I stay on top of the IBS with C and the better news is I don't have to go back for 5 years for a followup.

Needless to say I'm relieved as is DH. I can deal with the diet and the miralax and the laxatives and all now that I know which enemy I'm fighting. She said the spell I had Tuesday night was a food reaction. Just stay away from the trigger and take a solid food holiday for 24 hours if it happens again.

They used Propofol for the anesthetic so I felt pretty stoned for a couple three hours but a bit more clear headed now. Off to make dinner. MMMMMMMM solid food.

Always good to get it over with.

We do have little triggers though for what day of the week it is.
Your life is much too scheduled ;)

Look what one of our daughters brought by tonight for my birthday.
Very nice and very considerate of her :D

which means retraining the bod to get up and get going earlier
Nah, it is dark early, wait until you can see and be seen.

When he retires in 8 months, then I'll get more confused.
Yep!

I hope he has a hobby.
I'm sure he will, like telling Sally how she does everything wrong :D

It didn't leave me with any great desire to do it again any time soon
Ain't THAT the truth! Glad it all went well.

I have diverticulosis
Bummer. No more seeds for you. I was surprised when I heard that DW's aunt couldn't eat blueberries due to diverticulitis. Those are REALLY small seeds!

Off to make dinner.
Geez, you'ld think DH could give you one day off since you just had an invasive procedure and your head is a mess!

DH has been babying me for two days. I insisted tonight. I slept for awhile and as a nurse I know the best cure for a belly full of gas and cramps that I woke up with is to walk it off. He just brought me a bowl of ice cream. Yep, I'm being pampered ;) and lovin it!
