The Old Folks Home

2 falls on concrete in the last 6 weeks. One face down. Concrete no phased by my hard head. Still have scabs on my left side from the other fall. My two feet are their worst enemies.
Man, it really stinks doesn't it? I fell off a ladder that really hates me. Fell right on my phone and shattered the screen.

Mornin OF's, I'm not falling (yet,) thankfully but has anyone dealt with big toe bone spurs and just lived with it instead of surgery? Docs were confusing enough that I've just lived with it for the past 10years. Last one said something like it'll just come back and might not be worth the long recovery when all I do anyway is shuffle around the homestead, not exactly running 10k's....

When I was young, I remember a couple of my Aunts, and one of my grandmothers, getting bone spurs removed from various parts of their feet. They didn't grow back. I guess having them removed depends on where it is, size, how much it hurts, and/or how much it interferes with wearing shoes. So far, I haven't experienced any, therefore can't offer from personal experience.

My friend had a bone spur removed from her heel. It was shredding her Achilles tendon. The surgery itself went well and the surgeon took great pain to reattach the tendon. It did take a long time. I did her chicken pens for her while she was recovering. It didn’t grow back.

But….. With any surgery find the place that does the most ops of that kind. It won’t necessarily be the closest place. Then a tip a nurse gave me…Call the hospital and ask to talk to a nurse on duty on the surgical floor. Ask her for a recommendation. Tell her you’re a retired medical worker if you feel like it’ll help. Good luck!
