The Old Folks Home

Ok..I'm going to post again. Most folks don't believe it, unless they try it. I use to buy the mite and lice spray for canaries and such in the pet store. Spritz some on the butt, the back, back of neck, under chin, tummy, and under wings. Works great! No wait for eggs to be eaten. Easy peezy. View attachment 3594402
I have some Tempo for the roosting bars but I think I want this product to put on the girls themselves. Roosters too.

Well got told my new cockerel is BC Marans so now have two marans cockerels.
One is blue copper Jake now BC is Pete.
I wanted to breed some of my RIR pullets to BC Marans roosters but probably not going to happen unless I can find a fully grown rooster local from a reliable source and I know of none now.

I get to go to the dermatologist today to check for a skin cancer. More fun, fun, fun...not usually.

I hope the doctor I see today, is better than the one I saw last time. The last one disagreed about the area I suspected. I got the "I'm the doctor, listen to me" lecture. She turned to Dh after lecturing me, and reassured Dh that I did not have any skin cancer anywhere, and I was just being paranoid.

When the test results came back in, it confirmed that the area I suspected was indeed cancer, and I had been scheduled with a surgeon to have it removed. Dh almost fell off his chair when I handed him a printed copy of my test results. He kept saying, "but she assured me that you didn't have skin cancer, and you were just paranoid".

I do hope that they get their head on straight and take care of this now. Not tomorrow or next week. I get to go for an semi annual dermatologist visit in a couple of weeks and have a good one I think. So far she's been excellent.

In California, Mites are resistant to pyrethrum. We need to use spinosad.
