The Old Folks Home

I like the concept for 20 or fewer birds but when there is a layer coop of 50 or more???
Then I would have more than 1.

BUT... Since you want something where you don't have to heft the bags... and in my trashcan feeders, you do have to carry the bag to the coop, then lift the bag up and pour them in. Right now, I make the kids do that for me... not sure how I would manage doing it myself....

I would see if you could back the truck up to a homemade feeder... and have the feeder made to match the back of your vehicle... so you back up, then open the bags, and let them pour in... or scoop... into the feeder... but.. NOT lift.

And make sure anything and everything you build accommodates that... zero lifting.

I was at TSC today. Seems like scratch is twice as much as it was last year! Only use it in cold weather .
I'm paying about $14 now for 50lbs. I know that it it higher now everywhere. Had I kept buying at TSC I would be spending over 8k a year more on chicken feed. My farmers owned Co Op is the only place I can buy now. If I only had 10 pets it wouldn't make a lot of difference. I'm still trying to downsize as fast as I can find buyers for the layers I have now.
