The Old Folks Home

I went over to my sister's house to help her with a sick chicken. Since it's been so wet, the dirt roads are rutted and full of pot holes. I found myself singing:

There's a pot-hole in the middle of the road,
There's a pot-hole in the middle of the road,
It was just last spring it showed,
And that's just where it growed,
There's a pot-hole in the middle of the road.

It's 3.5 miles from our house to a paved road. The first 1/4 mile is private road, meaning the county isn't responsible for its maintenance.

We (all of us back here) have filled in holes, bought gravel, bought crushed blacktop. Fill in a pothole, and another one takes its place. Sometimes, it forms a moat around the filling. :gig
