I save left over bread by drying it and breaking it up. Then I use if for the chickens when I make soup for them.

Now I will be once we decide on a bread machine. I'm hooked on cinnamon raisin bread. That was about my only treat in my early days.

Morning old folks.

I'm dreaming of a rainy Christmas....looks like that's as good as it's going to get here. Strange really. Having temps in the mid 50s and steady rain predicted through the weekend into the first part of the week sure does little to feed the Christmas spirit.

I have to admit I get lazy when it comes to making bread. I usually make Amish sweet white bread by hand but discovered that it's much easier to toss the ingredients into the bread maker and punch the start button...let it do all the work.

Hope everyone isn't stressing out too much and y'all are taking time to enjoy Christmas.

We have to go to Costco today to pick up my new glasses. That will most likely be a nightmare.

I was VERY surprised when I went to Costco this past Wednesday. It was moderately busy, but not bad. Check out lines were about 4 deep.

I was disappointed in the what they did not have: Baking cocoa and brown rice. They have had neither in a few months now

I went to Costco yesterday and it was pretty busy but not too bad. It helped that they had all the checkouts open.
I stood in line for about 45 seconds.!

We did that years ago but seldom even have toast now. May have to start that up again. I can use Splenda instead of sugar on a slice of buttered toast. We need to find a source of White Wheat whole wheat flour.
