FIL finally got a decent set of hearing aids. Before that, his wife would yell at him, repeatedly, the same thing. (Why don't you go into the room where he is???)

His church offered a class for the spouses/friends of people who wear hearing aids, so that they could understand what it was like, and maybe have a bit more compassion...? She wouldn't go.

Good Morning Old Folks

Yeah, hearing aids are a pain for both parties. They are not perfect. In a crowded area with multiple conversations going on they drive me crazy.

I read about a new type of hearing aid that allows sound amplification from in front of the person but not as much from behind.

That does sound helpful!
