The Old Folks Home

Our Christmas was going well till we got word last night late that a friend of my husbands who was in the hospital for suspected pneumonia from Covid had passed away from metastatic lung cancer on the 13th. His family had received our Christmas card and his daughter had been putting off getting in touch with us. She said it just made it all seem too real for her.

He had a kidney removed two years ago from cancer. His last check up two months ago proclaimed him cancer free, two months later.........We set for the rest of the evening staring at nothing and shaking our heads. We had talked to him last month from his hospital bed. He was feeling better.

Woke up this morning took a deep breath and managed to recover the rest of the holiday. He wouldn't have wanted us to grieve through Christmas.

Sometimes you're the windshield sometimes you're the bug.....

Sigh. :hugs

There are times when I wish I could take out hearing aids! Like right now, as hubby is killing zombies in his computer game across the room.
Clearly you need ONE more Christmas present!!!

Noise canceling earbuds or headphones!!!

:clap

I'd like a pair of noise cancelling hearing aids. Maybe next Christmas. I wore mine for the first time out doing chores with the chickens this afternoon. Note to self, be smart and take them out before doing that again. Those crowing roosters that compete to see who can crow the loudest are hard on the ear drums.

Thanks Al. Hope you and yours had a great Christmas.
That we did. Eldest son did not make it home for Christmas... but we had the rest of the boys, with new bride.

From last week, when we had a big dump of fresh snow. Christ is born!!!
