Well, I have an interesting story. I went to Southern Idaho on July 9th. It is a desert and this time of year it's covered in a dry grass called Cheat Grass and Sagebrush, which is an oil laden plant.
Being sparsely populated, 10,000 acre fires started by dry lightening, only makes the local news....The National Fire Fighting center is located in Boise.
Anyway, one day we are headed to Boise, to pick up supplies for the patio, which I was finishing for my brother...I-85 got shut down and soon we saw smoke rising, and slurry planes and water helicopters flying.
After the huge fire was under control, at the head of the fire, we drove by a little stationwagon which had run off the road, through a fence and started the fire.
Later on, on the news, we found out that the woman had lost control, due to an erratic lane change....She just happened to have all her belongings packed in her car, and was headed to Oregon.......She had just escaped the Waldo Canyon Fire in Central Colorado. She was ok and escaped with her purse, but everything else was toast.
