I am sorry Cyn...Ginger was such a gallant soul.

I have been following your post about your girls and I so sorry for your loss.

Oh, Cyn, I am so sorry- she was a dear and gallant girl!

We expected her to pass on. She hadn't laid an egg in 14 months. It was so hard to watch her go, though. Sweet Gingersnap, she was just a good hen, never caused any trouble in any way. She has always been on my egg carton label, a pic from her younger years.

She was out on range with the old ladies, waiting for blueberries I was picking off the bushes for them when she began gurgling and honking and turning purple. I think there was fluid in her lungs and all the excitement chasing blueberries just got to her. She died while doing one of her favorite things.

Hunting for blueberries is a good way to go in my book!

May I be so blessed as to go doing one of the things I love! She went while anticipating a gift (blueberries) from a loved one(you). She went happy- blessings on her and you and Tom!

So sorry to hear about your girls' health, and now Ginger's passing. I have a few old ladys and I would surely be heartbroken. Cyn, you are such a strong and good soul, thank you for sharing all your photos and stories with us.
