The Olive-Egger thread!

From L to right top OE, OE with speckles, single combed pullet from same cross, Cuckoo Marans
bottom EE, green laying Ameraucanaand three blue Amer eggs of slight shade difference

Just a few Olive Eggers, the diff girls are producing slight variance in shades.

Thanks! When onthespot started this I thought how lovely her olive speckled egg was so it is nice to look forward to them in our own basket.
 
I just want any eggs but I really can't wait to get olive eggs again you guys are making me remember how beautiful that one egg was! Now I have a little chick to show for it

From what I understand, you MAY get an Olive Egger, but it will likely be a lighter color olive than it's mama, since the Ameraucana won't contribute any dark brown genes to the mix. You would almost certainly at least get green eggs. Better to use a Marans or Welsummer roo, and keep the pea combed chicks.

iam looking to get an "Olive-Egger", but before i do, can i get some opinions on weither these are roo's or pullets.
i was told that she thinks the black one is a pullet and the chipmunk one is a roo
they are 10 weeks old and are out of a Black copper Marans roo and a aracuna hen

Need better pics, I can't see much. A picture from the top looking down, a good side view including tail, and a close-up of hackles and head. Neither appear to have pea combs?
