The Olive-Egger thread!

Ok Amy drug me over here to yet another thread

I think we have more OE chicks right now than any other chick..my Marans roo prefers the Ameraucana ladies to his Marans

We have one of those flashlights that can see the smallest heartbeat..my little boy candles the eggs and likes to see the heart beating in the white eggs.He got my chick obsession:oops: and won't eat an egg because then it won't be a baby chick.
All of my OE have been feather legged and most have cheeks and pea combs...come on olive eggs

The eggs you sent me well the chicks are 6 months old the first of Feb. Getting medium brown eggs right now. I will post some pics on here....I thought the chicks were Maran/Ameracauna crosses...but I am sure know they are Maran/EE crosses. Look for pics of the kids on here soon

I just posted the pics of the chicks that grew up from the eggs I got from you....thanks again

I'm throwing questions at you all......I wanted to see if I can make a Blue Partridge colored Olive Egger with my Welsummer roo over Blue Amerc. girls? Or Would I need a Blue Amerc. roo to cross over my Welsummer girls to get that kind of cross? I love the pattern my Wellie girls have but if they can make it into blue, even with gold leakages, it would be purdy! I'd like the Olive eggs in the batch.

I HAVE to get rid of them. They are 2 Olive Egger roosters that need a new, loving home that wont kill or eat them. We got them from a breeder here in MI who got them from another breeder as eggs, when they hatched they had crooked toes (this doesnt effect them from being able to walk or run and you wouldnt even be able to tell that there toes are crooked from the way they run around like crazy) and she couldnt keep them so she gave them to me. They do great together but absolutley HATE any other rooster. They would do really good with a flock just for the 2 of them or they would do fine if you kept just the 2 of them together. Ive raised them together since chicks and are NOT even close to being agressive towards humans, just other roosters. The reason i have to get rid of them is because they keep ganging up on my maran rooster and he cant defend himself. They are very, VERY beautiful birds. I dont know if they can be used for breeding cuz of there crooked toes but if they can they would make BEAUTIFUL offspring. They are both from a BC Marans hen and a Lavender ameraucana rooster, Pick-up only. PM me if your interested or have any questions! Thanks. These pics are from today but they are a little ragidy from the weather. I put them up for auction cuz i could use the money but i know that there isnt a big need for roosters right now so if no one will offer money then they will just go for free. If i am missing anything please let me know. Thanks for looking.

#1 Black rooster (also my favorite)

Love those boys! I'm particularly quite picky about Ameraucana x BCM Olive Egger cockerels, but those boys are nice. . . Small, even pea combs, decent bodies, good tail angle, so far so good.

Someone asked about Blue Partridge OE's . . . . Welsummers won't really do much of a trick, honestly, unless you're talking what people call EE's as "partridge" (which isn't) then yes, it will work, (but not with Black or Blue Am's) and otherwise Welsummers are Duckwing based. Duckwing and Black crossed together just make a perfect mockery of Black Coppers, so you'll be right back at where everyone else is.
