The Olive-Egger thread!

I think I've found the "standard" I'm going to try to continue. I really like the welsummer crosses. They all look just like wellies with beards.

This is from a Garry Farm (Bargain) Welsummer roo X Ideal EE hen. The true ameraucana crosses aren't laying yet, but no matter I'm very happy to have this for now.

Thanks! I can't wait until I have a whole bunch like some of the folks on here. I love the big rainbow displays. They do, however, look pretty nice in a big glass mixing bowl as well.

My eating egg customer just love the variety of colors in their cartons each week! I try to make sure that each carton gets at least 2 or 3 green, blue, or olive eggies!

WOW I love the barring. I wish I could make a barred ameraucana to meet sop but that is pretty much impossible.....barring gene inhibites slate legs.

The legs on mine are a light grey color... almost a pinkish grey.
A barred ameraucana would be just lovely.
My Barred Olive birds were hatched from eggs from Patty Carson.

Help please, I am incubating some olive eggs and can not see into them to candle, I have tried everything up to 2 million candle power spot light, cant see thru the shell. What should I do?

Sorry, but if you truly had a powerful flashlight, you'd see through them. I can see through 8 eggs on the Marans scale.

I'd say though if you can't, that's because they're fertile.
