WOW I love the barring. I wish I could make a barred ameraucana to meet sop but that is pretty much impossible.....barring gene inhibites slate legs.

i think ive got it figured out

my one (accidental) F1 male is 5 months old with dark legs he goes in with a black Am hen soon... and im going to do the cross again on purpose both ways... and in 3 or 4 years i might have it lol...

I also have a barred pullet with slate legs. She is in with a LF black roo at this time.Hope to get more.I think this may be a autosomal barring. It came from a araucana roo over some EE and ameraucana hens.I picked out some Araucana types for breeders but this one interests me.Here is a pic. Jerry

Wow - this thread has had many new posts since I was here last! This tells me that spring is in the air!

It's time for me to put my olive egger girls in my layer pen back in with my Marans. I love this time of year, when the girls are beginning to lay again, and the boys are doing their boy duties, and everyone is hatching!

Okay, I'm getting impatient for my olive eggs........so I thought I'd occupy my time by taking some pictures of my olive egger girls instead. ETA: They are now 18 weeks old.
