Thank you, They were worth the wait. Oh I have to say the OE who lays the brown egg is not from the eggs I got from Ruth. She was a first generation chick, that I got from someone else. Just want to make that clear.

Congrats - they are gorgeous eggs. Aren't the first ones so very fun ????? Almost like finding Easter Eggs when you were a child. You'll have to post pictures of the girls. I'm trying to get blue girls, with muffs and some copper around neck who lay the very dark olive green eggs like yours did. Glad to hear the brown eggs weren't from my girls but it does happen. So, how many do you have from my eggs and are they all laying olive eggs?

I have some for sale. I have eggs going out Monday and then no waiting list after that. Thankfully mine are finally back to doing their job and laying eggs. They took a nice loonnggg winter break.
Ruth here are my two girls. I love them. I have another female who is black she has not started laying yet. My friend has their brothers, one black and one Blue, both as fabulous as these two girls. i don't have pictures of them but they are pretty. The bronze that is on my girls neck is on their necks and backs and they are huge.
I hatched my Olive Eggers, which I bought from Turkeymountainchickens and I cannot wait to see what they lay! They are really pretty girls. I gave away the two Roosters that I got out of the hatch, killed me to do it but my neighbors dont want Roos. They were really pretty, big boys! When will my girls start to lay? like a Marans at 7 months or earlier?
I finally have olive eggs! Last year I bred 4 EE hens to my Copper Splash Marans rooster. I hatched 13 eggs, 7 of which turned out to be roosters. really obnoxious roosters, so they are gone. BUT. I did get 6 hens, one was killed by a Dachsund that that showed up in our yard. The 5 that are left are laying and I know at least 2 are laying olive eggs, one lays kind of a pink beige egg. The other 2 I'm not sure yet. This what they look like.
The olive egg is in the center, egg on the right is a from one of the EEs I used to get my Olive Eggers.
Now that I know this breeding worked I'm going to collect more eggs from my EEs and include them when I set eggs for Mahonri's Easter Hatch. I took a lot of pictures before I finally got a decent one of the color. They still look paler than they really are.
