The Olive-Egger thread!

Hi,
I hope to join the group. I received - 13 6th generation olive eggs from Ohioruss today. Great color.
Wish me luck!

I'm still waiting 4 my first olive eggers to hatch. They were due yesterday and still nothing but were still alive at lockdown. And I checked them this evening and there is still movement in the eggs. Who knows what they are doing. Just wish they would bust out! Lol

Hey everyone....this is one of my first generation OE pullets. I was curious if any others have some that have turned out barred this much. I think 4 of the 8 have this. The others are a bit more diluted. She really is beautiful in person. I think age is 2 months. Now...what do I breed to whom??

That's not actual barring, it's just a part of the duckwing coloration when a chick is first feathering in. And, you SURE that's a pullet? It is very pretty, but looks like a boy so far with the coloring.

and the beak. See how thick the upper half of the bill is close up to the face, and how it is sloped down from eyes to tip? BOY! Sorry,

I was thinking cockerel as well, due to the thick legs. Onthespot - I've never heard of the BEAK being a gender indicator! Seriously? NEATO if so!!!
