The Olive-Egger thread!

Faverolles were developed by the French long ago. Besides the beard I don't see much similarity. From feathersite:
Bred in the 1850s of composite blood from the Houdon, Brahma, Crêve-Cour, Dorking and common fowl of the area. Some references have been made to the CouCoo and Cochin being used in addition.

Hmm..makes me wonder if mine are pure now. Mine also have the feathered tufts under their eyes like Amercaucana. I bought them as adults from a woman. I would bet they are hatchery chicks.

Ameraucanas don't have tufts. I have some breeder favs and a couple hatchery girls. Personality is pretty consistant with them no matter where they came from.

This is Supercheek's mom, a.k.a. Dad's chicken.

The salmon (or wheaten in marans) color comes out perfect when they are crossed with wheaten ameraucana for EEs/OEs. I am going to hatch some blue wheaten Am x wheaten marans soon, but for now I don't want them getting mixed up with the pures.
