The Olive-Egger thread!

I hate coyotes with a passion! Around where I live there are BIG ones there's rumors that they have crossed with weak none alfa stray wolves in the past and that's why some populations are larger, sometimes I see em and they are small like around 35ish lbs but other times they are bigger than my 50 lbs dog. They group up as big as 40 or 50 in a pack sometimes. I say shoot em all to save your olive eggers! Ha had to stay on topic

Here is the poor OE with a lame leg. We decided to isolate her again, but I don't see that she will ever get better. We may cull her next week. It'll be about 2 months since she first got hurt.
Sad.

Hi,

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Does anyone have any Olive egger hatching eggs to sell? Preferably first generation?

I recently hatched some second generation Olive egger eggs. I thought that they would be all different hues of Olive. Well, I have four hens and so far they all lay dark brown eggs. I think that they were bread back to a BCM roo. Which, one would think would make darker olive eggs. But, if you go by simple genetics you end up with about half that will have Olive and half that will be brown. But I have all brown egg layers!

I am in the market to hatch some Olive eggers. I love the egg colors and I would like to get some Olives!

Thanks!

Okay I got an egg today that is super dark olive almost brown looking. It is from a girl who is the result of BCM x Ameraucana and then mated back to BCM.
She has a peacomb but her egg is almost brown but looks olive in a certain light.
Looks brown here

Looks kinda olive here between the darker brown eggs in the lid of this egg carton. The dozen are olive eggs in the main carton.

Looks deep olive brown on the right next to the brown egg. Lighter Olive egg on the left.
